Pack 131 is proud to give back to the community. Throughout the year we participate in a number of community service projects. In the past we've:
Visit Retirement Centers - Each year we visit a retirement center in the community in order to make crafts, play games, and enjoy music with the residents.
Community Clean-up - We've participated in the Clean the Kish event to help collect trash from the Kishwaukee River, helped at church cleanups in our community, taken Leave No Trace hikes where we collect litter while we walk, and more.
Charitable Works - We've worked with Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for hungry children around the world, provided care packages for military personnel, collected food for food pantries, donated toys to Toys for Tots, and more.
Civic Duty - We've marched in parades, participated in civic ceremonies, honored service personnel at NIU sporting events, donated snacks to the local fire department, and each year we clean and place flags at military grave stones in Fairview Cemetery.
More - We're always looking for more, interesting ways to teach our Scouts how to give back to the community that supports them and take care of the world around them!
